Whenever someone says, ’tell me about yourself’, I always take a moment and think about what would be interesting to them. Are they interested in what I do, where I come from, or what I enjoy? Since everyone is different, I’ll add a bit of everything.
I was born in Canada but due to my parents’ work grew up in several countries. Most of my time was spent in the city of Calgary, but I also lived in England, Botswana, and South Africa.
Right after high school, my family moved to California. There, I went to Reedley College for two years. I then transferred to UCLA and graduated with a BSc in Data Theory. From there, I went to Oxford and did a MSc in Social Data Science. The reason for this degree is because I’ve always been interested in examining human behavior quantitatively.
After graduation, I set up my own company (DataSpective LLC) and have been consulting ever since. Every industry is interested in AI right now, and I’ve enjoyed being part of diverse projects across asset management and non-profits!
In my free time, I enjoy hiking and reading classical novels (especially mysteries). I also enjoy talking to others about their projects and sharing my experiences, so if you’re on the fence about reaching out, please do! You can find my LinkedIn, company website, and GitHub below.
